Thank you and good luck, JC!
OGC Nice and West Ham have reached an agreement for the transfer of 24-year-old Jean-Clair Todibo. The defender joins the Hammers on-loan with a compulsory purchase option. OGC Nice will also receive a percentage of the player's future resale price.
He arrived in Nice in the winter of 2021 to relaunch his career and help the club's defence following Dante's anterior cruciate ligament injury. That was three and a half seasons ago. The relaunch turned into a magnificent story and, as it comes to a close, OGC Nice can only say a big thank you to JC. Strong and consistent, the central defender went from strength to strength, growing and maturing with the best shirt in the world on his shoulders. Over the course of 136 games (2 goals), he established himself as a benchmark in Ligue 1 and even earned his first two caps for Les Bleus.
In three and a half seasons, JC was at the heart of every battle, whether it was in Ligue 1, in the Coupe de France or in European competition, he was a pillar of the team that twice finished best defence in France (in 2022 and 2024) and as the country's 2nd best defence in 2023. Vice-captain of the squad, he leaves the Gym with a sense of a job well done: "I've always fought for this shirt," said the player. "I've experienced a lot at Nice, a lot of great moments. I've learnt an enormous amount here and it will stay with me. Thank you to everyone: the directors, the coaches, the staff members, my teammates, all the club employees and the supporters. OGC Nice will always have a special place in my heart and I wish you all the best."
Todibo will now wear the colours of West Ham, an iconic Premier League club and winner of the UEFA Conference League in 2022-23.
OGC Nice wishes him every possible success for the rest of his career.
