21-year-old Justin Smith has today joined RCD Espanyol. 

Having come through Le Gym’s academy, Smith has now decided to leave the club this summer. Capable of playing as a defensive midfielder or as a central midfielder, the Canada U20 international is bound for Catalonia, where he will ply his trade for the newly promoted La Liga side.

After featuring in Le Gym’s first-team squad for a series of pre-season friendlies in the summer of 2021, Smith was successively loaned out to Ligue 2 club US Quevilly-Rouen Métropole in 2022–23 and to National outfit US Avranches in 2023–24.
