After two seasons and 28 goals for OGC Nice, Amine Gouiri is leaving the Côte d’Azur and joining Stade Rennais.

The 22-year-old came through the Lyon youth academy, but burst onto the scene at Nice, scoring 12 Ligue 1 goals and four in the Europa League in his first season.

He then started the following campaign like a train only to tail off in the second half of the season, like the rest of Christophe Galtier’s team. He still managed to pull out some great individual moments, notably in the quarter-final and semi-final of the Coupe de France with his goal against Versailles paving the way to the Stade de France. That was one of his 28 goals for the club, and he also registered an assist that night, one of 19 in 89 appearances.
