Having picked up 65% of the votes, Morgan Sanson is your Aiglon of the Match from the 3-0 win over Lorient.

Le Gym’s no. 11 came into the starting XI as part of Francesco Farioli’s only change to the side that started the 0-0 draw away to Reims on 7th April, and it was a choice that quickly paid off. Ever-present in the middle of the park, Sanson broke the deadlock all on his own in the 23rd minute, winning the ball 25 yards out from the opposition goal, breaking into the box and firing a rocket into the top right corner to set Le Gym on their way and bring the Nice fans to their feet. This was Sanson’s third goal for Les Rouge et Noir – as well as his first in Ligue 1 after bagging a brace away to Bordeaux in the Coupe de France – and was also a goal that very much simplified proceedings for his side.

It became clear that this was going to be Nice’s night just after the break, when Jérémie Boga (13% of the votes) struck home a curled effort from inside the box to double his side’s lead and notch up his fifth goal of the campaign following a quick transition led by Mohamed-Ali Cho. Finally, thanks to a typically committed and hard-working performance, Melvin Bard completes the top three with 5% of the votes.
