Farioli: "At this time of the season, points count double"
Francesco Farioli gave his thoughts on Lorient, Le Gym’s opponent this Friday for the opening fixture of L1 match day 30 (9pm): “Lorient are a team who, away from home, have made a significant change. They’re on a long run of good results. They’re a very well organised team that alternate between two styles when they don’t have the ball: one being a very high press, the other being anticipation. They’re one of the most efficient teams, along with Paris, they score more goals than they create chances. Their players deserve massive credit for the situations they create thanks to their style of play.”
The key to the match for the Tuscan technician? "We have to try and limit the area where they are good: counter-attacks in open space. They have some very good, very physical players up front. We paid for that in the away fixture, dropping two points after a high-quality game. In my opinion, this will be an open game, because both teams need points and at this stage of the season, points count double. We'll need to show a great desire to play this match carefully and intelligently."
