Amavi back at OGC Nice
Jordan Amavi has joined on loan (with a purchase option) for the second half of the 2021/22 season.
After successfully undergoing a medical on Wednesday, Jordan Amavi (27) is back where it all started for him: the place where he won the Coupe Gambardella in 2012, was converted from winger to full-back, made his Ligue 1 debut, established himself at the top level, and said goodbye to the Ray and hello to the Allianz Riviera. It is also where his departure — in different times and economic context — contributed financially to the building of the training centre, a fact no one has forgotten.
Jordan will now again pull on the shirt he wore on 60 occasions between 2013 and 2015, scoring four goals. His arrival — the day after Hassane Kamara's departure for Watford — will add experience to Christophe Galtier's squad. Its experience he's collected in the Premier League with Aston Villa, the club he joined when he left the Côte d'Azur, and at Marseille over four-and-a-half seasons during which he notably played the Europa League final in 2018, losing 3-0 to Atletico Madrid. His qualities and experience also led to him being called into the France squad.
OGC Nice would like to wish him all the best on his return home.
