On 20 May 2012, Le Gym travelled to Lyon for the final game of the season. Although it would have needed a cataclysm for René Marsiglia’s side to be relegated, with a draw being enough, they headed to Gerland with the determination of a team in danger, focussed on keeping their safety in their own hands.
They weren’t to be beaten by a difficult start to the match and Les Aiglons turned things around thanks to a beauty from Esmaël Gonçalves (3-4). In doing so, they secured the club’s first league win in Lyon since 1973.
