On Saturday 2 October 2004, Le Gym travelled to the Stade Louis II, and then league leaders AS Monaco. Trailing 3-0 with an hour played, Gernot Rohr’s side – led by an inspired Victor Agali – turned things around in just eight scintillating minutes to tie the game at 3-3 before Marama Vahirua sent the thousands of away fans into delirium by netting the winner in the final minutes.
