On Sunday, Les Aiglons dominated Angers at the Allianz Riviera on Matchday 24 of L1 (3-0).

Before the encounter, two options presented themselves to Le Gym: to kowtow by feeling sorry for themselves for their lack of luck or to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in to turn their form around.

To the delight of the Niçois, their Aiglons chose the second option to put an end to a run of 8 matches without a win at the Allianz Riviera. And they did so in style.

Starting the match in a 4-3-3, with an impeccable central defensive duo of Todibo and Saliba, a very active Boudaoui and an inspired Myziane, the men from the Côte impressed across the pitch. They were helped on their way by an own goal from Doumbia after Lees-Melou had gone long (1-0, 10’), but they never stopped attacking to try to put the game beyond sight.

Chances began to stack up. From one of those chances, a smart move saw Lees-Melou find Myziane, whose first touch took him towards the box, he controlled with his left, then found the back of the net with his right in order to double his side's lead (2-0, 17’). Defensively, Les Rouge et Noir perfectly dealt with the couple of chances that the visitors created.

Saliba hit the bar before the break. And then just after half-time, he and his teammates suffered for 10 minutes, but remained solid and consistently cleared a series of corners to maintain their lead.

After that, Nice retook control of the encounter, moved well and kept the ball at feet. The match came to a close with an excellent goal for Gouiri. After endless effort throughout, Le Gym's top scorer never gave up and a smart ball from Myziane allowed the forward to beat Bernardoni (3-0, 83’) and pick up his 11th goal of the season (in all competitions). 

The perfect conclusion to an excellent Sunday.
