Paris SG 2-3 Nice
A victory in numbers
OGC Nice won 2-3 in Paris to open Matchday 5 of Ligue 1, once again counting on their solid defensive base and the Laborde-Moffi duo to put an end to their drought on Parisian soil.
LE GYM 14 YEARS ON
The 3-2 win in Paris was Le Gym's first win in Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes since 7 November 2009 (1-0), after 12 unsuccessful trips to PSG (4 draws, 8 defeats).
The win means the Aiglons remain unbeaten after five games (2 wins, 3 draws). It is the second time this has happened in the last three seasons (0 defeats also in 2021/22), as many as in the 32 previous seasons in the top flight.
A SOLID DEFENCE
Francesco Farioli's men managed to keep the Parisian giants at bay to secure victory. In Ligue 1 this season, Paris have never attempted so few shots (12) or touched so few balls in their opponents' box (28) as they did against Nice.
To do so, Nice were able to count on another stellar performance from their captain Dante, who played his 208th Ligue 1 match for Nice, becoming the Aiglons' most-capped player in the competition in the 21st century ahead of Olivier Echouafni (207).
MOFFI - LABORDE: A WINNING DUO
A key figure in Nice's success, Terem Moffi has scored in 2 consecutive Ligue 1 matches for the first time since March-April 2023 (against Nantes, then Angers). The Super Eagle scored his first brace since the 0-3 win at Monaco in February 2023, a match in which he also provided an assist, as he did on Friday evening.
Gaëtan Laborde was also decisive in Paris, finishing off Moffi's cross for the second goal and maintaining his excellent relationship with his strike partner. Three of the No24's last four Ligue 1 goals for Nice have come from Terem Moffi assists, including the two he has scored so far this season (against Lille, then Paris).
