Solid and unshakeable between the sticks, Kasper Schmeichel was voted Aiglon of the Match for the encounter between OGC Nice and Angers (1-1). With 60% of the vote, the goalkeeper beat Gaëtan Laborde (10%) and Khephren Thuram (9%) to the award.
After four decisive saves, Kasper Schmeichel is your Aiglon of the Match Angers - Nice. Once again reassuring in his goal, the Dane did not disappoint on his return from international break. He was involved from the outset with a save to deny an effort from Bentaleb (2'), before the goalkeeper closed the door on the Algerian on two other occasions, first from a long shot shortly before the hour mark, then from a free kick (68'). Schmeichel was quick out of his goal to cut out Les Angevins' balls over the top, and he allowed Nice to leave with a point when he turned Sabanovic's attempt away for a corner (90'). With 60% of your votes, Le Gym's final line of defence picks up his seventh Aiglon of the Match award.
In second place, you chose Gaëtan Laborde (10%). As usual, the striker did a great job on his left wing, providing an assist for Terem Moffi's goal (4'). Le Gym's number 24, freshly elected Aiglon of the Month for March, defended a lot, drove forward and gave his all to try to push his team towards the victory.
The podium is brought to a close by Khephren Thuram (9%). The midfielder who has just returned from his first senior international call-up was at the origin of the first goal, provoked by one of his trademark breakthroughs, before finding Laborde. With three chances created, four interceptions and 75% of his duels won, the midfielder was involved in everything that was good for Le Gym, but lacked a touch of luck.
