Squad update before the trip to Angers
Didier Digard gave an update on his squad ahead of the trip to Angers (R29, kick-off Sunday at 15:00). He started with positive news about Melvin Bard: "He had a knee injury. He has recovered well. It is quite surprising on the recovery time. We're lucky. He had a very good week, which gives us a lot of hope for Sunday." Hope also for Youssouf Ndayishimiye, who resumed training: "For him it was a little trickier to manage than Melvin because it was a 'beautiful beast'. But it's getting better."
The coach continued by making a point on the unavailable players: "For this weekend, we only have Sofiane (Diop) and Jordan (Lotomba), for whom it will be a little longer, and Youcef (Atal). I also think that we will not take the risk of bringing Hicham (Boudaoui) after the international break. We will let him rest. We're lucky to have plenty of people so if I had to position myself today, I wouldn't take a risk with Hicham."
With two full-backs on the flank, Didier Digard was asked about the tactical possibilities on the right side of the Gym defence: "Does that limit the options? No. We got Antoine Mendy back and Alexis (Beka Beka) is performing better and better in this position. He is very attentive, very keen. This gives him more playing time and that's a good thing. Given his investment, he is really putting everything into placing himself in this position."
