It was the Brazilian's 138th top-flight appearance for Le Gym which — when added to the 12 he played for LOSC at the start of his career (2004-'06) — takes him to the milestone, reaching it aged 37 years, 11 months and four days.

Previously, the oldest player to make 150 top-flight appearances in France was Jean-François Beltramini (36 years, 7 months and 23 days*).

He has made 166 competitive appearances for OGC Nice, but has played more times in the Bundesliga with 202 games (for Bayern Munich, Mönchengladbach and Wolfsburg) and 87 in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League (for Charleroi and Standard Liege).
