Full of emotion and with a real sadness in his voice as the time comes to turn the page. There are some regrets too, a consequence of an out of the ordinary rise to the the top, which started very low and climbed so high. And how he would have loved to have picked up just a few more matches in order to hit the symbolic bar of 100 appearances in Red and Black: "If I had performed better at the start of Vieira's time at the club, I could have picked up matches…". At the start of summer 2021, Yoan Cardinale leaves OGC Nice, the club at which he has spent 12 years of his life. With a desire "to say thank you to the supporters" who "gave him so much" and with a bitter taste in his mouth "of unfortunately not being able to do so in a full stadium" due to the pandemic.

Before moving on to a new challenge, the goalkeeper opened up his box of memories for OGCNICE.tv, delightfully reminiscing over his own story… and the Club's recent history!

At 27 years old, a new adventure awaits him. But whatever tomorrow may hold, the goalkeeper will always be at home in Nice. Le Gym thanks him and wishes him the best for the future.
