Ursea: ‘It’s up to me to find the solutions’

Adrian, is the main feeling disappointment this afternoon after the defeat against Rennes (0-1)?

Of course. Once more we saw two different sides to the team. A first half in which we played the way we wanted to and created chances. Unfortunately, we lacked the final touch. And then a second period in which we were struggling more and more as it went on. Today it’s a tough situation and a disappointing result. We’re going to move on and it’s good that we can react quickly in midweek.

Why do you think that your side struggled in the second half?

A few reasons. The further into the game we got, our opponents were getting better and better because we were no longer dangerous. From our point of view, we were being more and more individual and playing less as a team and sticking to our game plan. Because of those two aspects the team struggled. I would have preferred us to play like we did in the first half. It was the same against Reims. We need to work on it.

It’s another individual error that cost you today…

When you play under this type of pressure even when you’re a professional it gets to you and affects the decisions you make and these errors happen. We’ve got to analyse the game and find out the positives but most of all what we can improve on. It’s up to me to find the solutions.

What did you lack today?

Rennes weren’t a very defensive side, quite the opposite actually. I think that we lacked patience in our play today. I feel like when we had the ball, we wanted to finish our passages of play too quickly instead of taking the time to move their defensive line and wait for the right moment.

What are your thoughts on Kasper’s substitute appearance?

We wanted a lot more from him but we thought that despite his physical condition he would be able to provide the final touch or a moment of brilliance. That’s why he came on.

We’re still seeing errors when playing out from the back. How can you get rid of them?

It’s because we’re still doubting ourselves. We’ve got to play simpler balls, that might mean playing some longer balls, not necessarily playing the way we want to. It’s tough. We need to help the players make the right decisions.

Do you prefer Jeff Reine-Adelaïde a bit deeper like he was today or higher up the pitch like against Reims?

We had a tactical problem today. We knew that Rennes attacked a lot down the wing. I wanted Jeff to help create the play today but not have to defend too much. That’s why he played there.

Were you frustrated near the end of the game?

Yes. When you see how hard the players worked, we’ve got to be frustrated. But now that the game is over, we’ve got to get back to work. That frustration will turn into working on analysis, that’s the only thing that will make us improve.

Are you looking at the table tonight?

No. I’ve always said that the next game is the only thing that matters. And it’s got to be the same for the players. All of our energy has got to go into the next game. If we want to improve our position in the table we’ll start thinking where we are and getting down. We’re working towards the next game and what we need to do to improve our game. The wins and the goals won’t just come out of nowhere. We need to know how to create them.

Have you got an update on Danilo?

I haven’t seen a medical report but it’s definitely a muscle injury. We’ll see later on.
