In Friday’s pre-match press conference, Patrick Vieira gave a squad update, just 48 hours ahead of the season opener against RC Lens on Sunday at 17:00 CEST.

“Hicham Boudaoui (who injured his knee on 1 August in the friendly vs FC DAC) is slowly but surely recovering. He still has a few weeks to go before he can start running,” explained Le Gym coach.  “What is encouraging is that Myziane (ankle) and Danilo (knee) have resumes individual training,” he added. “They will resume training with the rest of the squad next week.”

RONY LOPES IN THE SQUAD FOR SUNDAY

Patrick Vieira also answered a question about Rony Lopes, who missed the training camp in Austria for personal reasons and is yet to play a game in his new colours: “Rony is training with the squad and is getting physically better and better. He still has work to do but he will be in the squad for Sunday’s match.”
