The upper tier of the Tribune Sud stand closed on Saturday
At its meeting on Wednesday, the LFP’s Disciplinary Commission ruled on the match between Nice and Marseille, which took place on Matchday 3 of L1 (28 August).
Due to the “behaviour of the OGC Nice supporters: banner and discriminatory chants”, as it detailed in its press release, the commission decided that there should be “a closure of the top tier of the Tribune Sud for the period of one match.”
On Thursday, OGC Nice received confirmation that this particularly harsh punishment will apply to the next home match, on Saturday against Lille (8pm).
In order not to penalise the club’s season ticket holders, as well as those people that had especially bought tickets in this part of the stadium for the fixture against Les Dogues, the club has decided to relocate them to the closest available areas, in H1/I1 and J1/J2.
