Saint-Maximin did score
The debate continued for almost three days. The only goal in the match between Lyon and Nice, should it be awarded to Allan Saint-Maximin, the man who had unleashed the powerful strike? Or to the unlucky Marcelo, who had helped (a lot) the Niçois, by deflecting the ball and sending it to the other side of his keeper?
On Monday, the Ligue de Football Professionnel discussed and definitively awarded the goal to Allan. The Competition Commission felt that the images do not allow them “to say that the initial strike wasn’t on target.”
C'est officiel ! La Commission des Compétitions a décidé d’accorder le but niçois à @asaintmaximin et non à @MarceloGuedes02 (CSC) !

The 21 year old forward has now opened his account and joins Ignatius Ganago, the Gym’s first scorer of 2018-19 (at Caen, 1-1). The goal was Saint-Maximin’s first away goal for the Gym in the league, after having scored three goals at the Allianz Riviera last season.
