Six stats ahead of PSG v. Nice
Here are six stats ahead of Le Gym’s trip to Paris, which is set to get Matchday 31 of Ligue 1 underway at 20:45 CET this Friday.
THREE stats ON LES rouge et noir
-
Nice have won two of their last three games away to the Ligue 1 title holders (alongside one loss), which is as many as they had won in their previous 29 visits to the reigning French champions (alongside nine draws and 18 losses).
-
Nice have scored 56 goals in Ligue 1 in 2024/25, which is their highest tally after 30 games of a top-flight season since 1977/78 (61 goals scored) and is already certain to be their highest tally across a full campaign since 2016/17 (63 goals scored).
-
Nice’s Jonathan Clauss has played 51 key passes, attempted 165 crosses and created 13 big chances in Ligue 1 this season, which is more than any other defender / wing-back in the French top flight in 2024/25.
THREE stats ON LES PARISIENS
-
Having already been crowned as the French champions as well as being unbeaten since the start of the season with 24 wins and six draws to their name, Paris Saint-Germain have taken 41 points from their 15 home league games so far in 2024/25, making them the fifth team in the 21st century to have racked up more than 40 points on home soil at this stage of a Ligue 1 campaign, following in the footsteps of Lyon (41 points in 2001/02) and PSG themselves (45 points in both 2017/18 and 2018/19 and 43 points in 2021/22).
-
Paris SG have registered 203 build-up attacks in Ligue 1 this season, which is at least 75 more than any other team. Les Parisiens have also only faced 18 such attacks, which is at least nine fewer than their competitors.
-
As well as conceding 28 goals so far this season, Paris have kept just seven clean sheets in their first 30 matches of the 2024/25 Ligue 1 campaign, which is their joint-lowest such total at this stage of a season in the 21st century (alongside their tally from 2009/10).
