Aiglon of the match: ‘Momo’ Cho wins
Mohamed-Ali Cho, who provided the assist for Nice's third goal at Saint-Étienne on Saturday (1-3), was your Aiglon of the Match (14%). Jonathan Clauss and Baptiste Santamaria made up the rest of the podium.
Like his team-mates, he rose to the occasion in the second half. Starting for the seventh time in a row in the league, Mohamed-Ali Cho was one of the key players in Les Aiglons' victory in the Forez on Matchday 24 of Ligue 1. Lining up on the left side of the attacking trio with Evann Guessand and Gaëtan Laborde, the France U-21 international tried hard but failed to threaten in a first half in which the Rouge et Noir were pegged back before the break.
Eager to extend Le Gym's winning streak, which now stands at four wins in a row, the former Angevin stepped up a gear after the break. ‘Momo’ Cho raced forward, beat his man, lined up and shot, but the number 25 failed to hit the target on several occasions inside the box (53', 60') and outside it (59'). In the end, the winger was decisive in cementing Les Aiglons lead. Alone on the right-hand side of the box, the ex Real Sociedad man sent a perfectly weighted pass towards the penalty spot for Evann Guessand to slot home the Aiglon's third goal (1-3, 69’).
Another assist, his fourth of the season, added to Cho's tally of 5 goals and 4 assists in all competitions (3 and 4 in Ligue 1). In good form since the start of the winter season, the Stains native has now made four assists in his last ten top flight appearances.
Behind the 21-year-old striker, the rest of the podium was made up of Jonathan Clauss and Baptiste Santamaria. The right-back, who was involved in all three of Le Gym's goals, once again shone in attack at the Chaudron, while his midfield colleague made his sixth straight league start since arriving on the Côte d'Azur.
