Issiaga Camara signs first pro contract
Young midfielder Issiaga Camara has today signed his first professional contract with OGC Nice.
A year after joining the club, Camara has now taken a major step forward by putting pen to paper on his first professional deal with Nice. “This is a dream come true,” smiled the 19-year-old. “I know that this isn’t the end of the road; in fact, it’s quite the opposite. This is an important step in my career. Now, I need to put twice as much effort into continuing to improve and into being able to help OGC Nice. I’m attentive, highly motivated and ambitious. Thanks to the club for its faith in me and thanks to everyone that has supported me on my journey. I’m going to give my all to keep moving forward.”
Born in Conakry, Guinea, on 2nd February 2005, Camara moved to France at the age of 11. Following spells at amateur clubs including Beaune La Rolande, J3S Amilly and EB Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire, the midfielder flitted between OGC Nice’s “elite” academy squad and its first team during the 2023–24 campaign, but after taking part in the Olympic Games with Guinea this summer, Camara was brought into Franck Haise’s pre-season squad. The Le Gym manager would then bring the Guinean off the bench in the friendly away to Ipswich Town before giving him his first few minutes in Ligue 1 away to Auxerre – another important step in the career of a talented and humble young man upon whom OGC Nice is counting, both this season and in the future.
