Guessand extends contract until 2028

OGC Nice is delighted to announce that 23-year-old forward Evann Guessand has extended his contract with the club until 2028.

Having signed his first professional contract in 2020, Guessand has now extended his deal with Le Gym, thereby proving his extraordinary attachment to the club as well as a mutual love.

Since joining Nice a decade ago, the striker has climbed every rung of the ladder stretching from the club’s pre-academy all the way up to the Ivory Coast national team, which he broke into this summer after enjoying a complete season in which he made 38 appearances and scored seven goals.

A model of self-sacrifice and professionalism, the no. 29 broke new ground last season and, through his sheer output and his key contributions, embodies both the present and the future of Le Gym, with the club deciding to keep its faith in the forward and to give him more responsibility. “I’m proud and honoured,” admitted Guessand. “I know that people’s expectations, both of the team and of me, are getting higher and higher, but I’ll keep working like mad to be an even more key player and to help the club to perform well. I have a deep love for OGC Nice, which I joined when I was 12, and my aim and my desire are for us to go as high as possible together.

Evann has made 68 professional appearances for Les Rouge et Noir, notching up eight goals and five assists in the process. This experience has also been strengthened by his loan spells at FC Nantes (44 appearances, five goals and two assists in 2022–23) and at FC Lausanne-Sport (35 appearances, seven goals and five assists in 2020–21).
