Dante named as “the boss” of Ligue 1

Who’s the boss? Dante is – and not just to OGC Nice fans. Having been asked to pick their “boss” of the 2023–24 Ligue 1 campaign, France’s footballing fanbase overwhelmingly opted for Le Gym’s Brazilian, who earned 41.9% of the votes in Ligue 1 Uber Eats’s end-of-season awards on X, beating Steve Mandanda’s score of 28.3% in the process.

After shining throughout a season in which he racked up 35 games and 3,101 minutes, the evergreen no. 4, who won the UEFA Champions League in 2013 with Bayern Munich, recently signed a one-year contract extension with Le Gym, thereby giving himself the chance to continue establishing himself as one of the club’s legends as he enters his ninth season with Les Rouge et Noir and sets his sights on the 300-appearance mark, having made 282 so far.
