Ligue 1
Season records at OGC Nice
As the dust settles on the 2023/24 season, we take a look at the Aiglons who racked up some impressive statistics over the past ten months.
Bułka in the top five of Ligue 1's most-used players
Five players played every minute for their team in Ligue 1 this season. All of them play in goal: Marcin Bułka, Yehvann Diouf, Steve Mandanda, Guillaume Restes and Yvon Mvogo. As for outfield players, Lyon's Maxence Caqueret racked up the most playing time (3024 minutes).
Le Gym's Polish goalkeeper also has some other impressive stats this season:
- He kept 17 clean sheets in Ligue 1 2023/24, with only Sommer (19) and Milinkovic-Savic (18) doing better in Europe's top five leagues.
- He saved three penalties in Ligue 1 (2023/24), the most of any goalkeeper in Europe's top five leagues (tied with Unai Simon, Mamardashvili and Baumann). Furthermore, Marcin Bułka (with Nice against Monaco on 22 September) and Lucas Chevalier (with Lille against Metz on 3 December) became the third and fourth goalkeepers to save two penalties in the same Ligue 1 match since Opta began analysing the competition (2006/07). Before this season, the last goalkeeper to achieve such a feat was Cédric Carrasso, in March 2010, with Bordeaux against Montpellier.
- At 76.4%, the Polish international has the eighth-best successful pass rate under pressure in the five major European leagues this season (min. 900 minutes), and the best in the French top flight.
Dante, one of the oldest goalscorers in history
When he scored for Nice against Strasbourg aged 40 years and 193 days, Dante became just the fourth player to score at the age of 40 or over in Ligue 1 since 1947/48, after Salvador Artigas (40 years and 76 days with Rennes in 1953), Roger Courtois (44 years and four days with Troyes Sainte-Savine in 1956) and Benjamin Nivet (41 years and 103 days with Troyes in 2018).
Todibo omnipresent
Against Metz on 7 October, Jean-Clair Todibo broke the record for the most touches (190) and passes attempted (181) in a Ligue 1 match since Opta began analysing the competition (2006/07).
