Evann Guessand scored his fifth goal of the season - his fourth in Ligue 1 - and was named as Aiglon of the derby against Monaco (2-3).

Bis repetita. After his winning header against OM (1-0), the Nice youth academy product scored again in a derby - and in just the same way. From a corner laid on by Morgan Sanson, the striker catapulted the ball into Köhn's goal, allowing Le Gym to equalise despite being a man down. Overjoyed - as were the 24,788 fans in attendance on Sunday evening - the 22-year-old celebrated his goal by kissing the eagle logo emblazoned on his jersey.

 

Unfortunately, for the first time this season, a goal from Evann Guessand did not mean a positive result; he had scored in wins over OL (3-2 in 2021-22), OM (1-0), Bordeaux in the cup (2-3) and Metz (1-0), as well as in the 1-1 draw at Lorient. 

With 60% of the vote, the man from Ajaccio was ahead of another player who came through the club's youth system - Tom Louchet - who was once again invaluable, this time in his first Ligue 1 start. Morgan Sanson completed the podium.
