He was the surprise tactical tweak of Francesco Farioli, the 'X factor' that almost turned things for the Red-and-Blacks. Usually a box-to-box midfielder in a 4-3-3, Morgan Sanson started as a playmaker in a 3-4-3, and during the first 30 minutes, the number 11 troubled the hosts. With his movement between the lines, his precise passing, and astute decision-making, he stood out, and very nearly earned an early assist only to see Jordan Lotomba fail to hit the target (2').

When the Bretons adjusted tactically, Sanson rolled up his sleeves and got stuck in, winning the ball back with a high-energy game, catching your eye.

January's Aiglon of the Month, Evann Guessand, came in second on 24%. He almost broke the deadlock, but a last-ditch Brassier challenge denied him the shooting opportunity. Youssouf Ndayishimiye was third (12%). The 'Wall of Bujumbura' was solid on the right side of the back three, and produced a fabulous pass aimed at Lotomba late in the first half (45+2') that might have brought his side more but for Chardonnet stepping in.
