Maxime Dupé signs for Nice
OGC Nice is delighted to announce the signing of Maxime Dupé. The experienced 30-year-old French goalkeeper arrives from Belgian club Anderlecht.
The U20 world champion in 2013 – alongside former Aiglons Mario Lemina and Alexy Bosetti – joins to bolster the goalkeeping ranks of Francesco Farioli’s side. “Maxime is a proven goalkeeper in this league,” explained OGC Nice sporting director Florent Ghisolfi. “We had two priorities for this transfer window and we signed Mohamed-Ali Cho and Valentin Rosier. When Salvatore Sirigu left, the signing of another goalkeeper also became an option. When the opportunity to bring in Maxime arose, the decision was an easy one. With Marcin Bulka and Teddy Boulhendi, we can count on three excellent goalkeepers.”
A product of the FC Nantes academy, the man from Pleucadeuc boasts a formidable CV: after debuting with Les Canaris (64 appearances), he spent three seasons at Toulouse FC (116 matches, 43 clean sheets). A Ligue 2 champion and Coupe de France winner with Les Violets, the custodian headed to Belgium last summer.
“I am very happy to join OGC Nice, a big club with a great history and a tradition of excellent goalkeepers,” said Maxime Dupé. “I kept a very close eye on Nice’s first half of the season, including Marcin Bulka’s superb performances. It’s an honour to join a squad like this, a humble but ambitious group. I can’t wait to get to work!”
“We have been monitoring his performances over recent seasons and we are delighted that he has chosen OGC Nice to continue his career, despite all the other offers he had on the table,” concluded president Jean-Pierre Rivère. “We offer him the warmest possible welcome.”
