Valentin Rosier joins Nice
27-year-old right-back Valentin Rosier has joined Les Aiglons on loan from Beşiktaş JK with an option to buy.
Last week, just as Mohamed-Ali Cho was stepping through the door, OGC Nice sporting director Florent Ghisolfi discussed the rest of Les Aiglons’ winter transfer window. Driven by a desire “not to do business just for the sake of it”, the club’s senior executives were targeting “a defensive reinforcement” and, with that aim in mind, were keeping a close eye on any opportunities in the market.
“Valentin is a player who is reaching his peak. He knows Ligue 1 and has played in Europe with Beşiktaş, and he’s a complete full-back as well as a committed player who matches Le Gym’s DNA and who will contribute his freshness and his energy to the team,” assessed Ghisolfi.
These aspects were what convinced Le Gym to take a gamble on the Montauban native, who featured 21 times in the first half of the season with Beşiktaş, a club that he joined in 2020 and where, in three-and-a-half seasons, he racked up 126 appearances, six goals, 18 assists and three titles in the form of the Süper Lig, the Turkish Cup and the Turkish Super Cup.
“I’m happy to be back in France and at a club as ambitious as OGC Nice,” reckoned the former Dijon FCO and Sporting CP man. “I’m now looking forward to getting down to work at my new club. I followed the first half of the season, and there are some great things for us to achieve together. I’m really motivated, and I’m hoping to help Le Gym meet its aims.”
“It’s a pleasure to welcome Valentin here,” concluded club president Jean-Pierre Rivère. “As a player and as a person, he matches our project perfectly. We made every effort to get him to join us this winter, and he did everything he could to come to OGC Nice. We wish him welcome!”
