5 reasons to come and see Nice - Lyon

Here are 5 reasons why you should come to the Allianz Riviera on Sunday evening to watch OGC Nice take on Olympique Lyonnais.

BECAUSE THERE'LL BE A BIG CROWD!

After breaking its attendance record for an opening day match when Nice took on Lille, the Allianz Riviera is set to be packed once again for this French league fixture, selected by Prime Video to round off matchday 3 of the French top flight. While the Populaire Sud will soon be sold out, the 3rd ring has also opened in Garibaldi and Ray. Hurry, there may not be enough for everyone...

BECAUSE NICE - LYON IS ALWAYS SPECTACULAR

3-1 last season, 3-2 the year before... The matches between Nice and Lyon are always prolific in terms of goals! In fact, in the 21st century, no Nice-Lyon meeting has ended 0-0. And in the last 5 league meetings at the Allianz Riviera (4 Nice wins, 1 Lyon win), 18 goals have been scored!

BECAUSE THE PRE-MATCH WILL BE FESTIVE

While the match has been scheduled for a time that will allow you to make the most of your Sunday, the forecourt will welcome you from 6pm with plenty of entertainment and stalls where you can eat and have a drink with your family or friends! And as an added bonus, there'll be a host of DJs on hand to warm up the decks ahead of the 14th edition of the Crossover Festival, which will be held in Nice at the end of the month!

BECAUSE THE 2 TEAMS ARE LOOKING FOR A WIN

Held to a 1-1 draw by Lille and Lorient in their opening two games, OGC Nice will be hoping to claim their first win of the season in front of their home fans. On the other side, Laurent Blanc's men need to get back on track after two straight defeats (at Strasbourg and Montpellier). The verdict on Sunday evening, from 20:45!

A FITTING TRIBUTE TO "EL POTRO"

Striker Jorge Dominguez, who died at the age of 64, will be honoured posthumously this Sunday. From 18:50, an exhibition at the "La Grande histoire du Gym" stand will showcase archives relating to "El Potro", with a book of condolences for you to sign. Jean Sérafin, his coach with whom he got on so well, his team-mates Patrick Bruzzichessi and Olivier Jannuzzi, as well as Dominique Dominguez (ex-wife of Jorge Dominguez) will then visit the Café des Aiglons (at 19:10) to reminisce about the career and life of the Argentine striker. This will be followed by a fitting tribute on the pitch at the Allianz Riviera, where his family and friends will receive the former Aiglon trophy just before kick-off.

During the Nice-Lyon match, the whole of OGC Nice will also be thinking fondly of Jean Rossetti, former Chairman of Mutuelles du Soleil, and all his family and friends.
