In keeping with his excellent start to 2023, Gaëtan Laborde was once again invaluable during the month of March. After scoring three times (in five games), the never-say-die striker has been rewarded with his first Aiglon of the Month award.

The votes: Laborde has Todibo on his heels

Many of you voted for the former Rennes player, who topped the poll (28% of votes), just ahead of Jean-Clair Todibo (27%). The defender, who had the joy of being called up to the France team for the first time, came second for the second time in a row... ahead of the team's other new international: Khephren Thuram (15%). Hicham Boudaoui (fourth, 11%) and Terem Moffi (fifth, 8%) also received a significant number of votes.

Decisive every second match in 2023

"I'm here to bring a lot of energy; I'm the first defender. It's not always easy, but I'm like that: I give my all for the team and hope to be rewarded afterwards." These words, pronounced by Gaëtan Laborde at the end of 2022 on OGC Nice's official website, sound prophetic just a few months later. 

Often unlucky during the first half of the season, Gaëtan Laborde has rediscovered a his cutting edge in the New Year. In 15 games (13 starts), the striker has been decisive in almost every second game, scoring six goals and bagging one assist. And, above all, his goals have helped the club to pick up points (three wins, two draws) or to qualify for the Europa Conference League quarter-finals (victory against Sheriff Tiraspol).
