THE COMPLETE 1/4 FINALS DRAW
ABOUT FC BASEL
FC Basel are a regular on the European scene and currently occupy 6th place in the Swiss Super League (with 31 points), 3 points off the podium and 4 behind second-placed Servette Geneva.
The team is led by German coach Heiko Vogel and includes two former Aiglons in its squad: Andy Pelmard and Dan Ndoye.
To get to this point, the Parc Saint-Jacques residents (over 38,000 seats) knocked out Trabzonspor in the play-offs (0-1, 2-0) and then Bratislava in the round of 16 after an epic encounter (2-2, 2-2 + 4-1 on penalties). In the group stage, the Swiss finished second level on points with... Slovan Bratislava, but ahead of FC Pyunik and Zalgiris Vilnius.
It should be noted that in the first edition of the Conference League last season, FC Basel - 20 times winners of the Swiss championship - were knocked out in the round of 16 by OM (two 2-1 defeats).
