Aaron Ramsey named Wales captain
Aaron Ramsey, 32, has been named captain of his country, succeeding Gareth Bale.
It is the crowning achievement of Aaron Ramsey's long career. The Gym midfielder, who has been capped 78 times by Wales since making his debut in November 2008, has been named captain of his country. National team head coach Rob Page revealed the news when he named his squad for the upcoming EURO 2024 qualifiers against Croatia (25 March, 8:45pm CET) and Latvia (28 March, 8:45pm). Ramsey takes on the captain's armband from Gareth Bale, who brought an end to his playing career in late 2022.

"Aaron was vice-captain behind Gareth, and I see this is a natural progression. […] It's the right moment in his career and he really wants to do it. I have spoken to him about it, he likes the idea, and is looking forward to it," Page told the media.
Ramsey (25 competitive appearances for Le Gym to date) previously captained his country 14 times between 2011 and 2012.
Congratulations Aaron !
