Ramsey, Mendy added to injury list
Coach Didier Digard gave an update on his squad ahead of Friday's Ligue 1 game with Auxerre.
RAMSEY & MENDY INJURED
Aaron Ramsey (hamstring strain) and Antoine Mendy (twisted ankle) have joined the injury list. "For Aaron, it won't be very long, even if we must be careful and not hurry things along," said the coach. "Of course, with the matches coming thick and fast, and as he's an important player and there's just a small lesion, we could be tempted to rush things, but we won't do that as the season is still long. As for Antoine, it happened yesterday. We'll have to wait a little before there's a clear picture."
NICOLAS PEPE HAS STARTED RUNNING
The OGC Nice boss also talked about Nicolas Pepe's recovery process: "He's done some light running, which is very good. He's really responding very well to everything that has been asked of him so far. It's a good thing. Honestly, as a player, I've suffered from starting again too soon and risking a relapse. I will always try to ensure my players can perform as well as possible for as long as possible, and not just because I need them for an important game. I will always prioritise a player's health."
3 PLAYERS CLOSE TO A RETURN
"Youcef [Atal], Mattia [Viti] and [Bryan] are the furthest along. They didn't partcipate in the full training session, but they are on an upward trajectory. I think I'll be able to count on them in the matchday squad, even if we do have another training session tomorrow."
