Conference League
Round of 16: Who are Le Gym's 8 potential opponents?
After Thursday's play-off round was completed, there are eight potential opponents for OGC Nice in Friday's Conference League Round of 16 draw.
After finishing top of a group with Partizan Belgrade, Cologne and Slovàcko, the Niçois are seeded in the draw, which means they cannot face the other seven group winners (AZ Alkmaar, Djurgården, İstanbul Başakşehir, Sivasspor, Slovan Bratislava, Villarreal, West Ham).
THE 8 POTENTIAL OPPONENTS
That means the future opponents come from the eight play-off winners: Fiorentina (Italy), Lazio (Italy), Anderlecht (Belgium), Gent (Belgium), Basel (Switzerland), Larnaca (Cyprus), Sheriff Tiraspol (Moldova) and Lech Poznan (Poland).
THE PLAY-OFF RESULTS
Fiorentina run riot
Fiorentina completed a 7-2 aggregate win over Braga with a 3-2 victory on Thursday, but they were the only side to make progress by more than a one-goal margin.
The turnarounds
A number of clubs overcame first-leg deficits. Beaten 1-0 in Turkey, Andy Pelmard's Basel went through thanks to a 2-0 home win. Sheriff Tiraspol were two goals down on aggregate when Partizan opened the scoring early only to progress thanks to a 3-1 win. Anderlecht came through against Ludogorets 3-0 on penalties while Gent also scored a shoot-out success against Qarabag (5-3).
They held their advantage
Lazio and Larnaca both retained the one-goal margins they secured in last week's first legs at Cluj and Dnipro respectively. Lech Poznan — having drawn 0-0 in Norway — won 1-0 against Bodo Glimt to go through.
