First pro contract for Nahounou
OGC Nice is delighted to announce Yannis Nahounou has signed his first professional deal with the club.
A powerful right-footed defender, Yannis Nahounou (18) has come through the ranks of the Academy since arriving in 2019.
Before joining the Red-and-Blacks, he played at USF Trilport in the Paris region, where he was spotted by Le Gym's scouts, as well as INF Clairefontaine and his hometown club, CS Meaux.
Four years after arriving on the Côte d'Azur, Nahounou has signed his first professional contract, which will come into effect on 1 July 2023.
"I have come through the youth academy at OGC Nice, it's where I started, the first club that I have loved. I'm really happy to sign my first professional contract here," he said.
"I hope to accomplish some great things with the club. It's a dream come true. Even if I have a lot of things still to work on, I know I can do something good."
A key member of the reserve team, the centre-back has participated in both periods of preparation with the first team this season, appearing in a number of friendlies.
Symbolically, he was presented with the shirt of captain Dante when he put pen to paper. "He's a legend and a mentor for me," said the young defender. "I try to follow his example. On the pitch and off it, he's irreproachable. I would love to work with him to be able to improve as much as possible."
The whole of the club would like to congratulate Yannis and wish him all the very best for the future.
