World Cup break: the key dates for Les Aiglons
After 23 games – 15 in the league and eight in Europe – Le Gym will enjoy a mid-autumn break for the first time ever, due to the World Cup being organised in Qatar from 20th November to 18th December. Here is the key info about OGC Nice’s schedule during that time.
RETURN TO TRAINING ON 28TH NOVEMBER
After a two-week break, Les Aiglons are expected back at the training ground on Monday 28th November, with the exception of the players called up by their national teams for friendly matches or, as is the case for Denmark’s Kasper Schmeichel and Wales’s Aaron Ramsey, the World Cup.
TRAINING CAMP FROM 5TH TO 10TH DECEMBER
Les Niçois will head out to Spain in early December for a six-day training camp, with the first team set to finetune their preparations in the Andalusian city of Marbella.
FOUR FRIENDLIES ON THE AGENDA
Dante and co. will play four friendly matches: two during the training camp, one at home to Atalanta on Saturday 17th December and one away (opponent and location TBC) on Wednesday 21st or Thursday 22nd December.
RETURN TO LIGUE 1 ACTION ON 28TH OR 29TH DECEMBER
Just after Christmas, OGC Nice fans are expected to return to the Allianz Riviera, with a tasty-looking clash against second-placed Lens first up. Whilst a date hasn’t yet been set, we already know the outline of the French top flight’s festive schedule, with the exact Matchday 16 line-up set to be revealed by the LFP by no later than 28th November.
