In video: Thuram and Gouiri on the scoresheet once again, Les Bleuets will go to the Euros!
By getting onto the scoresheet once again on Thursday evening against Ukraine (3-3), Khephren Thuram and Amine Gouiri ensured that the France U21s secured their ticket for the upcoming U21 Euros!
A sign of a successful qualification campaign: in 10 encounters, Sylvain Ripoll's side secured 8 victories and 2 draws. Against Ukraine on Thursday in Turkey, Les Bleuets started the match with real spirit. With the score already 1-1, Khephren Thuram found the back of the net in the 10th minute. On the receiving end of a pull-back, the OGC Nice midfielder scored his second goal for the U21s, just a week after opening his account.
Amine Gouiri took his goal tally to ten for the U21s, after a trademark curled effort into the back of the net (1-3, 25'). The forward came off after 80 minutes, while his midfield teammate played the full encounter, which ended 3-3.
With a ticket for Euro 2023 in the bag and after an intense season (43 matches for OGC Nice and 9 France U21s appearances for Gouiri, 41 outings for Le Gym and 11 U21s appearances for Thuram), the two Aiglons will now be able to enjoy a well deserved holiday!
