Refereeing
Julien Fournier: "Today, it's gone too far"
"For us, the refereeing today was the lowest of the low", deplored Julien Fournier on Amazon Prime after the derby. "Even the fourth official said to our coach that it was a penalty (on Delort in the second half, editor's note). Today it's gone haywire. Kamara who was on the pitch admitted afterwards that it was a penalty. Everybody saw it, except for the VAR. And today, it's gone too far".
For the Director of Football, it isn't a question of "hiding behind that. Marseille won the match. But we just want to be refereed in an equal manner. And over the last three matches, it's gon too far…".
And Julien Fournier reiterated his point: "We have lots of matches to play and I want us to be officiated in the same way as other teams. I know that lots of clubs complain and raise issues with refereeing.
A referee, like a player, can make a mistake on the pitch. Things move very quickly. But the VAR didn't do his job this evening."
Above and beyond these moments in the game, Les Aiglons have "some regrets. Because we only played one half out of the two. We showed the real OGC Nice in the second half, and that's what we need to show until the end of the season. All of the matches (to come, editor's note) will be difficult. For every team. We are still in the running, and we will stay there until the very end", concluded Julien Fournier.
