The forward was the star performer of the trip to the Stade Raymond-Kopa – and the key contributor to Nice's win. Trailing to Sofiane Boufal's penalty and struggling in the game, the visitors found themselves behind at the break and up against a solid defence. Like a battering ram, Delort changed everything and turned the match around. Having headed against a post in the first half, he levelled the scores just before the hour-mark with a shot deflected by Romain Thomas that sailed over Paul Bernardoni (1-1, 57'). His first-time volley in the 91st minute then left everyone stunned, the Angers goalkeeper included – everyone except Le Gym, who secured all three points thanks to Delort's moment of inspiration and climbed up to second spot in Ligue 1.

Only Jonathan David of Lille has plundered more goals since the start of the campaign (eight).
