Andy Pelmard is heading off to FC Basel on loan (with an option to buy) from OGC Nice for the 2021-22. 

Born in Nice, Andy Pelmard rose through all of the age groups at Le Gym (where he arrived at 14 years old), from pre-Academy to the first team, and got his first taste of L1 football on 23 February 2019 against Amiens. 

A versatile defender capable of playing in any position across the back four, at full-back or through the middle, the France U21 international has played 39 first team matches for Le Gym across all competitions.

Looking for a new challenge at 21 years old, he joins FC Basel on loan with an option to buy, driven by his desire to take another step forward in his progression. In Switzerland, he will play for a very successful side (20 national titles), used to playing in European football, and who finished the 2020-21 season in second place in the Super League (behind Young Boys).
