An imposing figure who can play centre-back or in midfield, Youssouf Ndayishimiye joined OGC Nice on 25 January 2023. "He's a complete player, very committed and a real competitor," said Le Gym's sporting director Florent Ghisolfi of the Burundi international, "who corresponds to the values and identity that we want to give our team."
Ndayishimiye has arrived at Nice from Istanbul after 74 games for Başakşehir. In his career, he has also played for another Turkish top-flight side, Yeni Malatyaspor, whom the Bujumbura-born man joined from Aigle Noir FC (Burundi).

An immediate impact upon his arrival, Youssouf immediately made an impression with his physical strength and ability on the ball. Didier Digard's tactical barometer, the Burundian has maintained the same level of performance, whether lining up in a three-man defence or as a defensive midfielder. Ndayishimiye, who scored and was voted Aiglon of the match against Nantes (J27, 2-2), was forced to end his season prematurely after suffering a sprained knee.
