After nearly 500 games and more than a decade with Leicester, Euro 2020 semi-finalist Kasper Schmeichel was convinced by the red and black project. He signed for OGC Nice on 3 August 2022. The Danish goalkeeper, voted Aiglon of the Month in November and February, has made 46 appearances as a first-choice keeper and 12 clean-sheets in all competitions. Schmeichel's first season in a Nice shirt was a success, with a number of benchmark matches such as his 2-2 draw in Cologne on 3 November and his season-high seven saves against Lille (J20, 1-0).

OGC Nice and Kasper Schmeichel have agreed to terminate the Danish international's contract by mutual consent on September 1, 2023.
